IVF + Fertility

Clinically we treat a couple specific to their diagnosis which can vary person to person; which is what makes Chinese medicine such a superior complementary modality in integrative fertility treatment. Since 30% of the time it is the woman factor and 30% of the time it is because of the male factor we have to take into account the health of the couple as a whole, in order to achieve optimal results.

Also, it is known how acupuncture can significantly increase the chances of live births when doing treatments such as IUI and IVF. Through many studies done on the subject we have seen that it can increase live birth rates up to 60- 65%.

How does treatment work?

Acupuncture can help your egg quality and there has been some recent studies on that it can improve the quantity as well. It allows for better circulation of blood to the uterus, enhancing the environment for a healthier inplantation as well as helping with your general relaxation and health.

How much time does it take?

Ideally you would start treatment at least three months prior to the planned IUI or IVF transfter. Optimal treatment is a minimum of twelve sessions, once to twice a week leading up to any hormonal treatment and continued until the extraction of eggs. On the day of the transfer, studies have shown that having acupuncture within an hour before and after the transfer can increase chances of live births significantly. Usually this is done in my clinic on the day of the transfer or the IUI or in the Fertility Specialist’s office.

Here in Buenos Aires I work in partnership with Dr. Glujvosky, who allows me to do the acupuncture just before and after the transfer in his own clinic, which is ideal for successful outcomes.
